新概念朗读小组已经运行六个多月了，这是新概念小组启动运行的第27周训练日志（节选）。
成长会新概念朗读小组简介
成长会新概念小组ScalersTalk成长会旗下朗读小组群。本小组采用的教材为新概念二、三、四，每周一至周六将当天文章练习结果以语音的形式发送到QQ群进行成员互评，每周日进行一次复盘总结。新概念小组是成长会内部小组，仅面向成长会成员开放。新概念二朗读第一轮已结束，第二轮重新开始；同时坚持完新二的小伙伴进阶新三。在此文中我们挑选上周的两篇文章（新概念三 lesson 41，lesson 42节选）进行复盘示范。

Lesson 41 Illusions of Pastoral peace
The quiet life of the country/'kʌntrɪ/has never appealed/ə'piːl/to me. City born and city bred. I have always regarded the country as something you look at through/θruː/a train window, or something you occasional/ə'keɪʒ(ə)n(ə)l/visit during the weekend. Most of my friends live in the city, yet they always go into raptures/'ræptʃə/at the mere mention of the country. Though they extol the virtues/'vɜːtjuː/of the peaceful/'piːsfʊl/life, only one of them has ever gone to live in the country and he was back in town within/wɪð'ɪn/six months. Even he still lives under the illusion/ɪ'l(j)uːʒ(ə)n/that country life is somehow superior/suːˈpɪərɪə/to town life. He is forever/suːˈpɪərɪə/talking about the friendly/'fren(d)lɪ/people, the clean atmosphere/'ætməsfɪə/, the closeness/'kləusnis/to nature and the gentle pace of living. Nothing can be compared/kəm'peəd/, he maintains/meɪn'teɪn/, with the first cockcrow/'kɒkkrəʊ/, the twittering of birds at dawn, the sight of the rising sun glinting/glɪnt/on the trees and pastures. This idyllic pastoral/'pɑːst(ə)r(ə)l/scene is only part of the picture/'pɪktʃə/. My friend fails to mention/'menʃ(ə)n/the long and friendless/'frɛndləs/winter evenings/'iːvnɪŋz/in front of the TV — virtually the only form of entertainment/entə'teɪnm(ə)nt/. He says nothing about the poor selection/sɪ'lekʃ(ə)n/of goods in the shops, or about those unfortunate/ʌn'fɔːtʃ(ə)nət/people who have to travel from the country to the city every day to get to work. Why people are prepared/pri'peəd/to tolerate/'tɒləreɪt/a four-hour journey each day for the dubious/'djuːbɪəs/privilege/privilege/of living in the country is beyond me. They could be saved so much misery/'mɪz(ə)rɪ/and expense if they chose to live in the city where they rightly/'raɪtlɪ/belong.
If you can do without the few pastoral pleasures of the country, you will find the city can provide/prə'vaɪd/you with the best that life can offer. You never have to travel miles to see your friends. They invariably/ɪn'veərɪəblɪ/live nearby and are always available/ə'veɪləb(ə)l/for an informal chat or an evening's entertainment/entə'teɪnm(ə)nt/. Some of my acquaintances/ə'kweɪnt(ə)ns/in the country come up to town once or twice a year to visit the theatre as a special treat. For them this is a major operation/ɒpə'reɪʃ(ə)n/which involves considerable/kən'sɪd(ə)rəb(ə)l/planning. As the play draws to its close, they wonder whether they will ever catch that last train home. The cit dweller never experiences/ɪk'spɪərɪəns/anxieties/æŋˈzaiətiz/of this sort. The latest exhibitions/eksɪ'bɪʃ(ə)n/, films, or plays are only a short bus ride away. There is so much variety/və'raɪətɪ/that you never have to make do with second best. Country people run wild when they go shopping in the city and stagger/'stægə/home loaded with as many of the exotic/ɪg'zɒtɪk/items as they can carry. Nor is the city without its moments of beauty. There is something comforting/'kʌmfətɪŋ/about the warm glow shed by advertisements/əd'vɜːtɪzm(ə)nt/on cold wet winter nights. Few things could be more impressive/ɪm'presɪv/than the peace that descends on deserted city streets at weekends when the thousands that travel to work every day are tucked away in their homes in the country. It has always been a mystery to me who city dwellers/'dwelə(r)z/, who appreciate all these things, obstinately/'abstənitli/pretend/prɪ'tend/that they would prefer to live in the country.

Lesson 42 Modern cavemen
Cave exploration/eksplə'reɪʃ(ə)n/, or pot-holing, as it has come to be known, is a relatively/'relətɪvlɪ/new sport. Perhaps/pə'hæps/it is the desire for solitude/'sɒlɪtjuːd/or the chance of making an unexpected/ʌnɪk'spektɪd/discovery/dɪ'skʌv(ə)rɪ/that lures people down to the depths/depθs/of the earth. It is impossible to give a satisfactory/sætɪs'fækt(ə)rɪ/explanation/eksplə'neɪʃ(ə)n/for a pot-holer's motives/'məʊtɪv/. For him, caves have the same peculiar/pɪ'kjuːlɪə/fascination/,fæsɪ'neɪʃ(ə)n/which high mountains have for the climber/'klaɪmə/. They arouse instincts/'instiŋkt/which can only be dimly/'dimli/understood.
Exploring really/'rɪəlɪ/deep caves is not a task for the Sunday afternoon/ɑːftə'nuːn/rambler. Such undertakings/ʌndə'teɪkɪŋ/require the precise/prɪ'saɪs/planning/'plænɪŋ/and foresight/'fɔːsaɪt/of military operations/ɒpə'reɪʃ(ə)n/. It can take as long as eight days to rig up rope ladders and to establish/ɪ'stæblɪʃ; e-/supply/sə'plaɪ/bases before a descent/dɪ'sent/can be made into a very deep cave. Precautions/prɪ'kɔːʃ(ə)n/of this sort are necessary/ˈnɛsɪsərɪ/, for it is impossible/ɪm'pɒsɪb(ə)l/to foretell the exact nature of the difficulties/'dɪfə,kʌltiz/which will confront/kən'frʌnt/the pot-holer. The deepest known cave in the world is the Gouffre Berger near Grenoble. It extends/ɪk'stendz; ek-/to a depth of 3,723 feet. This immense/ɪ'mens/chasm has been formed by an underground/ʌndə'graʊnd/stream/striːm/which has tunneled/'tʌnl/a course through a flaw in the rocks. The entrance/'entr(ə)ns/to the cave is on a plateau/'plætəʊ/in the Dauphine Alps. As it is only six feet across, it is barely noticeable/'nəʊtɪsəb(ə)l/. The cave might never have been discovered/dɪ'skʌvəd/has not the entrance/'entr(ə)ns/been spotted by the distinguished/dɪ'stɪŋgwɪʃt/French pot-holer, Berger. Since its discovery/dɪ'skʌv(ə)rɪ/, it has become a sort of potholers' Everest. Though a number of descents/dɪ'sent/have been made, much of it still remains/rɪ'meɪnz/to be explored.

小组成员本周练习相关总结
1、本周主要还是n和l的区分，较上周有一定的进步，其他发音问题explosive的p没有浊化，violently读错，down读的像dang，not读错，nnusual后部分读错，lowered没发准，relatives重音错误。
2、下周除了n和l的继续区分，其次注重每个单词发音的准确性，最后就是自身还有拖延症问题。
3、听他人录音过程中也会自查发现错误。结合S的成长课“榨干材料”，做预处理再开始朗读。
