现在越来越多的人都热爱跑步，国内的马拉松比赛也越来越多了。其实5公里以上就算是长跑啦！那么“长跑”是long run吗？其实长跑叫long-distance run，long run另有其意，且听小编分解。
1. long run
= 长期的，长久的
例句：
Set goals and you'll be better off in the long run.

2. run away
= 逃跑
例句：
Our dog is no watchdog; he runs away from strangers.
我的狗不看门，它一见到陌生人就逃跑。
3. on the run
= 在外逃亡
例句：
The man is on the run from the police.
这个人正在躲避警察的追捕。
4. run out of
= 耗尽，用光
例句：
The shop ran out of bottled water and canned food after the storm.
风暴过后，这家商店的瓶装水和罐装食品都卖光了。
5. run into someone
= 巧遇某人
例句：
I forgot to tell you that I ran into Mary when I was at the movie theater.
